A Greek woman seeking to share her home with a “nice, friendly, kind Nigerian man” has escalated her desperate search for her perfect housemate.
The ad is the second to appear in Ash News on Mare Street in which the owner describes herself as “a very, very attractive, highly educated, friendly, honest, caring Greek girl”.
The mysterious woman, now known as “Sue”, is letting the room for £320pcm, almost a third of the average rental rate for a room in Hackney. The average rate is nearly £950pcm.
Sue, who works as a local teacher, said: “There have been a lot of calls about the ad,” and stressed that the house was still available for the right Nigerian man.
Sue refused to comment on why the nationality and gender of the tenant are so important to her.
In a previous telephone interview, Sue claimed to be confused as to why her ad is of such unusual interest.
“I didn’t think the ad was that weird”, she said.
The original advertisement, a less detailed description of the rental, was taken some weeks ago but since then the search has intensified.
