The 2-0 win means the O’s remain firmly in the race for automatic promotion from League One, stretching their unbeaten run to six games. All ratings are out of a possible 10.

Eldin Jakupovic: 9 (Man Of The Match)
The big man on loan from Hull is probably the most popular keeper Orient have ever had, producing match-winning performances week after week. Much too good for this league.
Elliot Omozusi: 6
Not his best game in an Orient shirt with some nervy clearances, but did what was required and helped his centre halves with the aerial onslaught.
Scott Cuthbert: 7.5
Solid as a rock, which he seems to be every week. Nothing got past him.
Nathan Clarke: 8
Led by example with a typically whole-hearted performance in the heart of defence. Won the aerial battle time and time again and scored his first goal.
Gary Sawyer: 7
After a torrid time against Notts County’s Jamal Campbell-Ryce on Saturday, he was much better tonight, producing a solid defensive display.
Dean Cox: 8
Had a stinker against County but showed his undeniable class once again with a great opening goal. Has the most assists in League 1 and is well into double figures for goals scored.
Lloyd James: 7.5
Orient’s most improved player this season and had another assured and creative display in the heart of the midfield. One crucial clearance off the line.
Romain Vincelot: 5
Injured early with what appeared to be an ankle problem. Little time to impact the game.
Moses Odubajo: 7
Good assist for the opening goal and his frightening pace caused Vale problems all game. One excellent piece of defensive covering in the first half as well.
David Mooney: 6.5
Not 100% fit having just returned from injury but clever link up play, especially for the opening goal.
Chris Dagnall: 6.5
Never gave the Vale defenders time or space to breathe such was his excellent pressing game. However, his finishing was sorely lacking on the night.
From the subs bench:
Marvin Bartley (on for Vincelot): 7
Slotted into the midfield effortlessly and was a defensive rock in the holding role. Assured performance.
Shaun Batt (on for Mooney): 6
Not much time to influence proceedings although made some intelligent running.
Robbie Simpson (on for Dagnall): 6
Only on for last ten minutes but helped out well defensively.
