London has a million things to do, but isn’t it impossible to decide? Don’t worry, our lineup of the best events and activities in Hackney has you covered.

Your back hurts from sitting at your desk all week. You haven’t seen sunlight in five days. Part of you wants to just go home and sleep for eternity, but this weekend is NOT the time! Not when there’s so much going on in Hackney right now. Why stay in when you can head out to concerts, art exhibitions, delicious food, and even the ‘Big London Night Walk.’?

Friday

The Big London Night Walk 2019

The Big Issue is organising a unique, guided tour experience that raises funds for the homeless and helps you reach your FitBit target at the same time. Nearly 400 walkers will participate in a 13-mile tour of central London, starting and ending at Shoreditch Town Hall. There’ll be refreshments along the way, and participants will also have the opportunity to hear from the experiences of  past and present Big Issue vendors who’ve benefited from the support of The Big Issue Foundation.

Keith? Arcola Theatre and Primate Productions presents A New Comedy

This is the last weekend that you’ll be able to catch Keith? at the Arcola Theatre. According to Playwright Patrick Marmion the play is a “recrimination of life in modern Britain” channelled through “head spinning madness”. Playwright Patrick Marmion describes Keith? as an pastiche of Molière featuring “supernatural con man”, which all sounds rather trippy to us. The Arcola theatre is one of the leading off-West End theatres, housed an historic former paint-factory in Dalston. If you’re looking for a brain-bending night, look no further.

When: Friday 7:30pm, Saturday 3pm and 7:30pm

If you’re worried about feeling famished after all that exertion there will also be hot food and drink vendors at the event village, plus water is provided on every lap of the race. Feel free to bring your friends to cheer you on!

When: Saturday 9:30 am
Where: Victoria Park

New Restaurant Alert: Angelina

If you’re looking for a new restaurant to try, the newly-opened Angelina in Dalston is serving a mix of Japanese and Italian cuisines. Try the eight-plate sharing menu featuring unagi risotto with burnt soy butter and dashi, alongside black sesame and milk chocolate panna cotta for dessert. Reservations can be made here.

Dance the night away: Oslo Hackney

An all-day venue in the heart of Hackney with a ‘dark, northern aesthetic’, Oslo may not be the spitting image of its Norwegian counterpart, but’s a great time nonetheless. Close enough to stagger off the tube and through the front door, and offering a raft of reasonably priced drinks, its an ideal venue to dance away a Saturday night. The bouncers are also particularly nice, which is a selling point in of itself.

Where: Oslo Hackney
When: 22:00-Late
