London’s first micro-pig picnic will see an adorable litter of new-born micro-piglets hogging Haggerston’s limelight.
Guests will have the opportunity to pet the litter of teacup pigs while enjoying a picnic and cocktails at The Proud Archivist gallery in Haggerston next month.
Animal welfare groups will take part in the London Pop-Up Pignic, organised by Yelp, to educate people about micro pig ownership. The cuddly creatures are often abandoned by their owners, who don’t realise how big they can grow.
The litter at the picnic, not yet born, will be provided by PetPiggies, a company which breeds some of the smallest pet pigs in the world.
Twitter was quick to react to the news after it was broken by the Evening Standard, with some people expressing excitement about the “pignic”:

Prices are yet to be confirmed and tickets will be appointed by ballot on Yelp.com.
A spokesperson for Yelp! told the Hackney Post: “We love animal pop-ups, and so does the rest of London. Wefelt like it was the perfect time to hang out with micro pigs and educate people about them.
“We want everyone to know just how big these pigs can grow and what it takes to have them as a pet.
“And if you don’t think you’re ready or can handle it, then the second best thing is having a pignic with these pigs.”
