Local photographer’s project hopes to capture the ‘dying crafts’ of De Beauvoir artists

Local photographer Eric Reichbaum, whose portfolio includes celebrities and other projects, is searching for “creative” De Beauvoir artists and craftspeople to photograph for his latest project.

Eric has photographed stars including Sir Elton John, George Clooney and Kim Kardashian. The experienced photographer is now turning his hand to a new project featuring portraits of London craftspeople. “It will allow me to be more creative and meet people’, Eric admitted. So far he has had bookbinders, painters, clay sculptures and knitters reach out to him to participate in the project.

Eric lives in De Beauvoir and is originally from America – having previously lived in New York, where he turned his high-school hobby into a profession. He now photographs for his own enjoyment and interests rather than on a fast-paced, event focused basis like some of his previous works.

Eric said: “I have no goal in mind with this… I like to just create new projects when I feel I need a creative jolt.”  He is focusing on “dying crafts… things that the next generation might not do anymore … as we move to a more digital age”.

The project is originally based on De Beauvoir locals but Eric is open to craftspeople from other areas of London, too.
