London Fields fashion expert Meryl Fernandes has landed a starring role in the new Channel 4 series Crazy, Sexy, Cool. The six part series will investigate celebrities’ wardrobes, and will advise how to recreate their looks on the high street.

Ms Fernandes told Hackney Post: “I think it’s quite hard to do fashion on TV, so it’s a nice sort of way to talk about fashion and learn about why (the celebrities) wore things they wore.”

She explained that the show made an effort to feature stars with differing tastes, adding that she “loved” Kimberly from the Pussycat Dolls in particular because her music brought back childhood memories.

Having acted since the age of 12, Meryl was no novice to hard work:

“I think it started when I saw my parents working a lot. I love business and I love projects so I always take upon myself lots of stuff without really thinking if I can manage it.”

“We come from a generation where we are expected to do everything. I set up my shop eight years ago and I have learned a lot.”

The show Crazy, Sexy, Cool, is currently available to watch on the Channel 4 website.
