Three London printmakers are centre stage in an exhibition at the Jealous Gallery in Shoreditch.
Jess Wilson, Kate Gibb, and Mr Penfold, who were brought together by their experimentation with colour, launched the Anything Goes exhibition to have fun and try out new techniques.
Ms Wilson, who works at Jealous, utilised pixel-patterned gradients to create a bright colour wheel.
“The wheel was about seeing if I could make all the different colours out of cyan, magenta, and yellow,” she said.
She is also exhibiting a series of map illustrations made from personal experiences, as a way to explore using text in a functional yet creative way.
“I didn’t invent maps but I started developing my own style and doing things my own way,” she said.
Wilson said the idea for her United States road map piece came when her father, who loves colour-filled maps, told her how every state had a different number plate.
“I drew every single number plate and it became a bigger map than I ever intended, but I like it,” she said.
The show is on display at Jealous East from October 8 to November 8 before it heads to Jealous North in Crouch End.
