Antisemitic Graffiti has appeared on a wall in Hackney Wick describing the UK as a “Zionist police state”.
The racist graffiti was found on Monday on Rothbury Road near the Queen’s Yard by the Olympic Park in Hackney Wick. It was reported by a local Jewish resident who told the Jewish News that he was “horrified at such a crude antisemitic trope being used”.
Cllr Susan Fajana-Thomas, the cabinet member for community safety, released a statement to the Hackney Post: “We have been clear that Hackney is no place for antisemitism. All year round. We work with our partners and communities to ensure that incidents are reported, investigated and offenders held to account, and to ensure that victims of hate crime get the support and advice they need.”
Police are investigating the graffiti and have contacted the council to remove the antisemitic markings in Hackney Wick as quickly as possible.
