Two star actors are filming their latest movie in Hackney.

Gabriel Byrne (Usual Suspects) and Charlotte Rampling (The Duchess, Never Let Me Go) have been spotted filming in Broadway Market.

Hackney Council’s film office has confirmed that the movie I, Anna, a “noir thriller” with a difference, is currently shooting in London Fields.

The movie is based on Elsa Lewin’s novel of the same name. Ms Rampling plays the title character, a femme fatale who falls for Mr Byrne’s detective. He is investigating her as a murder suspect.

Ollie Redfern, who lives near Victoria Park, said he saw Ms Rampling standing near a car “smashed” against a street light outside a pub facing London Fields, with a film crew hidden behind it and a machine pumping out fake motor vapour.
