A house on De Beauvoir Road has been named ‘best small house of the year’ in The Sunday Times British Homes Awards.
The elegant early-Victorian terraced house, designed by husband-and-wife team Jez and Tonja Scott, was recognised for its “creative” and “original” back-of-the-house curvaceous extension that appears to sprout from a hillside and is topped by a wildflower meadow.
An energy-efficient 2,000 square foot home full of gadgets, its design has also been cited on planning application forms “as a standard-bearer for contemporary extensions”.
