Police seek information following Dalston stabbing

Police were called to a stabbing of a 54-year-old man on Ridley Road, Dalston on Sunday 6 March.

A 54-year-old man was stabbed on Ridley Road, Dalston in the early hours of Sunday 6 March.

Police arrived at the scene at approximately 4:35am, where the man was found to have suffered from multiple stab injuries. He was immediately transported to hospital for treatment. The injuries are not thought to be fatal.  

After the incident, the stab victim fell on the bonnet of Faisal Aakhoon’s car, a local Uber driver. Aakhoon was driving a passenger at the time. The blood-stained white car remained in the street as residents made their commute that morning. 

After the stabbing, nearby Dalston Lane was closed in both directions between Ritson Road and Greenwood Road. 

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told MyLondon: “Police were called at 04:25hrs on Sunday, 6 March, to a male stabbed in Ridley Road at the junction with Dalston Lane, E8. A 54-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. We await a hospital assessment of his condition. An investigation is underway, and cordons are in place to enable forensic examination of the scene.” 

There has been no arrest at this stage. Witnesses or anyone with information are urged to call 101, ref 1319/ 06 March.
