Two De Beauvoir cafe-owners are set to swap South Hackney for South Korea.
Lori De Mori and Laura Jackson of the Towpath café have announced the café will close for the winter on 10 November before the trip.
While they usually close at this time of year, this year the two owners are leaving Hackney after they received an invitation to cook in Seoul. “Laura and I are going to Korea this winter to do a little pop-up at this place called Wild Duck,” Lori said.

They aim to embody the values of Towpath while abroad. Lori describes their café as a place where “we make everything we can ourselves,” with “very homey food.”
This year, a light and music show will accompany the café’s closure. The event is also scheduled for 10 November.
