Shoreditch Police Station—one of Hackney’s two remaining front counter police buildings—is set to close along with some smaller police bases under new policing plans released this month. The closures are part of the Mayor’s Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC) plan to shute down “underused” stations in London, in order to raise £170 million from it. Several of the old police “Contact Points” are being changed into “Dedicated Ward Officer Hubs”, in order to improve visibility and public interaction. We have mapped the closing stations below.
