The Ethical Emporium Fashion Festival marked the end of the summer series at Bohemia Place over the weekend of 28 September.
Ethical Emporium, formerly the Hackney Fashion Festival, featured handmade and vintage products, as well as food stalls, live music and more from London-based traders.
The winter series begins on 12 October with a weekend-long Hackney Vegan Village. Both vegan food and fashion markets have been regularly hosted by the Market in the previous months.
Bohemia Place has become a hotspot for millennials and Gen Z’ers thanks to its variety of sustainable markets and nightlife. Last May, the Depop Pop-up Market brought the resale app’s community together in a physical location for the first time.
Bohemia Place is also home to Night Tales, a nightclub and bar terrace which recently hosted the launch of Love Island star Ovie Soko’s ASOS collaboration, and ABQ, the ‘Breaking Bad’ cocktail experience.
Libby, founder of Every Origin, a sustainable homewares company based in Hackney, said that many people had discovered the market by chance and were intrigued by its temporary nature.
Organisers of the market have stated that they want the market “to fit within the local community” and aim for a quarter of traders and businesses at their events to be from the local area.
