Volunteers and workers hand out take-home tests in Dalston.

“Some people take [home] as many as 20 tests at once” said Stephen Willey about the at-home antigen tests offered by Hackney Council. Stephen, who distributes tests to residents, said its Covid testing site in Dalston was “as busy as ever”.

To improve accuracy, the testing site also has an area where an employee of the site can help you to properly take the test.

The site, which opened in May, is located outside Dalston Junction station and opens daily from 10am to 4pm. It provides free self-testing antigen kits which are 90% accurate.

The latest figures show that Covid-19 case rates in Hackney are lower than the national average. Hackney has 226 cases per 100,000 while the UK has 387 cases per 100,000.
