The Beehive Pub in Hoxton has received the respected Hackney in Bloom Award for Best business premises for the 8th year running.
Michelle Hall, who has owned the pub for 20 years, was understandably delighted and said that she mentioned the accolade to most punters. Though the prize is only a certificate, it is a boost for the Beehive’s reputation at a time when many pubs in Hackney and across the country are struggling. Ms Hall hopes to win again next year.
She went on to say that the impressive greenery decorating the building and its outdoor seating is a “key point in the area” and a recognisable scene for people wanting to navigate the establishment. Jack McCance, a regular, believes it is “the best garden around” and there’s “not a pub in the area that’ll touch it.”
