A renovated Blitz memorial was unveiled on Sunday after three years of fundraising for much-needed repairs.
The Stoke Newington Civilian War Memorial, in Abney Park, needed £17,000 of work after falling into disrepair.
The unveiling was attended by about 80 people, including the children of veterans, Stoke Newington councillors and the Speaker of Hackney, Michael Desmond.
The renovations were funded by local donations and a grant from the War Memorial Trust.
The memorial commemorates the disaster at Coronation Avenue, which was hit by a high-explosive bomb in October 1940, killing 160 people.
Work began in August this year and was the third and final stage of a three-year project.
Money had previously been raised for a plaque and a book about the disaster, Putting on the Blitz by Camilla Loewe.
