The brother of EastEnders actress Gemma McCluskie appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday accused of murdering the 29-year-old and dumping her headless, limbless body in Regent’s Canal.
Tony McCluskie, who lived with Ms McCluskie in a flat on Pelter Street, appeared in the Crown Court by video-link from Brixton Prison. No application for bail was made.
The 35-year-old was remanded to a plea and case management hearing on June 18 following the brief appearance. At the hearing a document formally setting out the offences Mr McCluskie is facing will be put to him at which time he will have to indicate whether he wishes to plead guilty or not guilty.
No members of the defendant’s family were in court yesterday.
