Former Hackney White Fire basketballer, Pops Mensah-Bonsu, played 17 minutes and scored 5 points as his new NBA team Toronto Raptors slid to another narrow defeat.

They have now lost six games in a row, and are just one place off the bottom of the NBA Eastern Conference.

Hackney star may swap sports at London Paralympics

Hackney sports star Dervis Konuralp has revealed he may swap his swimming cap for a cycle helmet ahead of the Paralympic Games in London in 2012.

Konuralp, who has won 35 major medals in the pool, said he had done a trial on the track and was waiting to hear if he would be invited by British Cycling to start a training programme.

Hackney wheelchair basketball team look to debut tournament

A sports team of local disabled and able-bodied people will make its first ever tournament appearance this weekend in the Hackney Wheelchair Basketball Tournament.

No Limits was set up earlier this year with the aim of encouraging disabled and able-bodied people to play sports such as basketball and badminton together.
