Tour de Love – Cycle Speed Dating comes to Hackney

Are you a fast talking, time deprived Londoner who can pop a sweet wheelie on your ten speed? Then London’s first cycle speed dating is for you.

London Fields cafe Look Mum No Hands is running a series of cycle speed dating session for those of us who are already in a committed relationship with our mode of transport.

“I was looking for an event like this that would bring people who like cycling together and couldn’t find anything, so I thought ‘why not run my own event’,” said Margriet Schuring, founder and organiser of Cycle Speed Dating.

A love of bicycles is certainly an advantage for attendance, but past attendees have also included casual or part time riders and those who work and live near the venue. Schuring said: “It started out as just for cyclists but doesn’t mean other people can’t come.”

The three speed-dating evenings will be split into a women-only event on 11 March, ages 35-50 on 12 March and ages 25–35 on 26 March.

Tickets to each event are £15, including a drink and the chance to meet that special someone who will help you finally get out on that pedalo boat you’ve eyeing at Regent’s Park.
