Over 100 artists hosted a charity auction yesterday at Shoreditch Blackhall Studios. Among the contributing artists were actress Patsy Palmer, singer Kim Wilde and the architect Lord Foster.
The charity, Joss Searchlight, provides support to families with children suffering from brain tumours. The auction was the charity’s first major fundraiser and has prompted artists to get involved after experiencing deaths in their own families.
The charity was started by Dianne and Nigel Parkes in 2011 and provides families with gifts and support. Parkes explained: “We want them to know that good times can still be had and we want to give the whole family some amazing memories to cling to. We also created the Joss Searchlight website as a source of information, where parents can search for
practical and financial help.”
