A pop-up ‘Wool BnB’ opened in De Beauvoir last week, as a part of International Wool Week.
As the name might suggest, the first ever Wool BnB – launched by the Campaign For Wool – has everything from furnishings to fashion made entirely out of wool.
After hosting a series of activities and events throughout Wool Week (10-16 October), the BnB was open to the public last Sunday as a way of educating consumers about the benefits of wool, promoting wool-rich products and supporting the wool industry.
Christine Lockhurst, the host of Wool BnB said, “The thing about wool is that its uses are endless. You can make tables, chairs and insulation from it. Everything from artwork to the insulated carpets we sit on and the beds we sleep on.
“The whole purpose [of this pop-up] is to really show people how wool fits into your life.
“Our stylist Karina has created an environment where colour just pops out. The design can be easily recognised and it’s so beautiful. Everyone that’s walked into this place has left inspired.”
Competition winners will get the chance to stay in the BnB this weekend (22-23 October), before the pop-up comes to an end.
