Basketballer Pops Mensah-Bonsu will be looking to build on a solid start as he attempts to help his new NBA team reverse a run of five successive defeats.
Mensah-Bonsu, who started his career at Hackney White Heat, was snapped up by Toronto Raptors last week following his release from a short-term contract at high-flying San Antonio Spurs.
Following the move to Canada, the 25-year-old forward played for 15 minutes in a 108-102 defeat against Miami Heat, and scored four points. He then appeared briefly in a 109-101 loss against Utah Jazz, which left the Raptors second-bottom of the NBA’s Eastern Conference. They travel to Philadelphia on Wednesday and then host Detroit on Friday.
