Television presenter Kirstie Allsopp has turned to the internet in the hunt for the engagement ring she lost on the streets of Hackney, and is offering a reward of £1,000 for its safe return.
The face of Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location mislaid the 33-carat diamond surrounded spinel - a gem which resembles a ruby - while filming her new series, Kirstie’s Home Made Home, in the borough.
As well as appearing on television to promote her search, Ms Allsopp has set up a website in pursuit of the ring.
“When we stopped for lunch, I went to buy sandwiches from Marks and Spencer in Mare Street,” she said. “Having retraced my steps and spent ages tearing the car apart searching, [I realised ]it must have fallen out of my pocket in or near the shop.”
She explained: “My boyfriend, Ben gave me the ring. He wanted to mark the birth of our first child, Bay [but] it is also my engagement ring and means the world to me.
“The sentimental value to me is huge; I am determined to get it back.
“If you are in Hackney, keep an eye on the pavement or on the floor in Marks and Spencer. By now it could be anywhere. Please help me.”
Ms Allsop is asking anyone with details of the ring’s whereabouts to email her at info@kirstieslostring.co.uk.
